Robert Anthony De Niro Jr. gained the public’s attention with the film Mean Streets – this being the first of many collaborations with filmmaker Martin Scorsese. Robert De Niro was born on August 17, 1943, in Greenwich Village, New York, USA. He is a well-known American film actor and producer with American and Italian citizenship. In 1974, he took on the role of Vito Corleone in The Godfather Part II, where he won an Academy Award for Best Actor.

Other films he took part in include 1980’s Raging Bull, 1982’s The King of Comedy, 1995’s Heat, and more recently in 2019’s Joker and The Irishman.
