Dame Joan Henrietta Collins is an actress who trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. She was born in Paddington, London, and she grew up in Maida Vale. Joan is also an author and columnist. She debuted on stage at nine years old. After acting in British films, Collins went to Hollywood, where she got the acting credit in the soap opera Dynasty as Alexis Carrington. The role earned her a Golden Globe Award for Best Actress in 1982.
