BARBARA MANDRELL | PRICE UNKNOWN, NASHVILLE
With her parents being experienced musicians, it comes as no surprise that Barbara Mandrell eventually followed suit. In fact, before she was even in her teens, she already knew how to play the accordion. Not long after, she developed a knack for other instruments such as the piano, saxophone, banjo, and of course, the guitar. Since then, Barbara has become one of the country scene’s most influential figures, winning two Grammys, seven American Music Awards, and four Academy of Country Music Awards along the way.
From 1988 to 2002, Barbara and her family lived in the Fontanel Mansion before selling it at an undisclosed price. A few years after, in 2010, its new owners spent a portion of their investment money to turn the 186-acre property into a tourist attraction, providing them walking trails, an amphitheater, and a gift shop, among other features.
