Ted Turner | Price Unknown, Tallahassee

Robert Edward “Ted” Turner III is a media proprietor known for founding both CNN and WTBS, which eventually became TBS. He was born in Ohio in 1938. Turner took over the billboard business after his father’s suicide in 1963. Turner is also a well-known philanthropist, who has made investments toward charity programs. He eventually became a chairman of the United Nations Foundation board of directors.

In 2001, Turner also helped create the Nuclear Threat Initiative, an organization that aims to reduce the need for nuclear weapons around the world. He currently resides in a peaceful ranch near Tallahassee, Florida. Sitting in a 350,000-acre plot, the ranch has more than enough room for him and his family. The home was designed to match its environment and was also sustainably built. Not surprising, given he is a strong advocate of the green lifestyle.
